Port Blair, Oct. 29: As Fair Play becomes an integral part of all chess events, the All India Chess Federation (AICF) is conducting Fair Play Orientation Workshops to create National Fair Play Experts in India. The third and final Fair Play Orientation Workshop will be held in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu on 2nd & 3rd December 2023.

This two-day workshop is designed to provide basic knowledge of fair play and best practices to be applied in tournaments. Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants will be considered for appointment as Anti-Cheating Arbiters for National Championships and FIDE Rated events under the jurisdiction of the AICF.

Port Blair, Oct. 29: An awareness programme to sensitize the students (Boys & Girls) of Class 6th to 10th regarding the various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2012 was conducted on Oct.26 at Govt. Sec. School, Calicut by ICDS, Urban Project. 

Port Blair, Oct. 29: In order to encourage more residents to update their documents in Aadhaar, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had allowed the residents to update their documents in Aadhaar online through my Aadhaar portal free of cost upto 14th September, 2023. Now, after receiving positive response from the residents, UIDAI has decided to extend the facility of free document update in Aadhaar for another 3 months i.e. from 15th September, 2023 to 14th December, 2023.

Shri Bhagat Singh, the esteemed Chairman of the A&N State Cooperative Bank and the father of Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands passed away today in Hyderabad, marking the end of an era for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Born on August 1, 1941, Shri Bhagat Singh was a luminary whose life was a testament to his dedication to social work and philanthropy. He was revered among islanders for his tireless commitment to bettering their lives.
